Inga Artamonova (1936-1966) was a prominent Soviet speed skater. She achieved considerable success in her sport, becoming a four-time world champion in the allround event (1957, 1958, 1962, 1965).
Artamonova was known for her exceptional stamina and strong performances over long distances. Her career was tragically cut short when she was murdered by her husband in 1966. The circumstances surrounding her death led to a high-profile trial in the Soviet Union.
